This Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we have worked with the Regional Eating Disorder Charity Alliance Network (REDCAN), Eat Breathe Thrive, FEAST and ARFID Awareness UK - creating a community of support for the those affected by eating disorders.

ARFID Awareness UK
Founded by two mums in 2019, ARFID Awareness UK is wholly dedicated to raising awareness and furthering information about ARFID. Having experienced first-hand, the isolation, worry and frustration that often surrounds the diagnosis process, the charity aims to empower individuals and parents/carers to feel more confident, and less alone, when advocating for themselves or someone in their care.
Eat Breathe Thrive
The Eat Breathe Thrive Foundation for Eating Disorders is an international charity supporting people affected by eating disorders. We offer free and low-cost support groups and virtual courses for people seeking practical support, connection, and help with recovery. We also conduct research and campaigns to improve access to treatment.
F.E.A.S.T
F.E.A.S.T. stands for Families Empowered and Supporting Treatment of Eating Disorders. It is an international charity focused on supporting caregivers of people affected by eating disorders. F.E.A.S.T.’s mission is to empower caregivers navigating the challenges of eating disorders. It offers peer-led support, education, resources and community and promotes evidence-based treatment.
REDCAN Members
Caraline
Caraline is a local eating disorder charity working across Luton and Bedfordshire, providing early intervention and timely support. We offer evidence‑based therapies, including CBT‑E, specialist ARFID support, and lived‑experience peer support to empower individuals on their recovery journey.
Eating Distress North East
Eating Distress North East (EDNE) are the specialist eating distress charity in the North East and offer support, information, help and hope to people affected by eating distress. We do this through one-to-one counselling and CBT; prevention and education workshops for children and young people and training professionals to aid early identification; and wellbeing workshops for individuals and loved ones.
First Steps ED
First Steps Eating Disorders is a national eating disorder charity providing local help and support to individuals and their families of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. Additionally, we offer training and education to professionals and, together with our stakeholders, we advance the latest evidence base for service developments through our service-user-led approach.
FREED - Focused Recovery for Eating and Emotional Difficulties
We offer psychological and dietetic support for those affected by an eating disorder/eating difficulties. We also offer support to those presenting with general mental health and emotional difficulties.
PEDS - Personalised Eating Disorder Support
We are a nurse-led specialist eating disorder charity based in Peterborough, supporting people across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. Our service offers personalised assessments and individual support, as well as carers sessions and toolbox talks that provide practical guidance, education and support for families and professionals.
SEED Eating Disorder Support Service
SEED provide sufferers and carers alike with confidential independent and non judgemental advice and support to ensure they are aided by the best possible network of care and support to facilitate recovery. All services can be accessed through self-referral, no formal diagnosis is required. We provide support and services for people living in Hull & East Riding.
SupportED
SupportED work across Scotland offering support groups for adults over the age of 18 with an eating disorder and their carers/loved ones. Individuals do not need a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder and can self-refer for support. Our befriending service is here to support recovery through weekly phone calls with a trained volunteer. We run regular workshops for carers, focused on understanding eating disorders and learning skills that can help to support someone with an eating disorder.
SWEDA
SWEDA supports children, young people and adults with eating disorders and their families in the South & West. We offer 1-2-1 therapeutic support, support groups, a helpline, training for professionals and outreach at schools and colleges as well as free resources through our website, monthly newsletter and social media.
South Yorkshire Eating Disorder Association - SYEDA
SYEDA work across South Yorkshire to provide support for individuals affected by eating disorders, including their friends and family. We also provide a range of training sessions and workshops to raise awareness of eating disorders for professionals in education, healthcare, fitness and across the VCSE sector.
